I'm not quite sure where to start, but here we go. My name is Jeff Springer Jr. and I am 26 years old. I threw my first dart at a steel tip board when I was four years old and have been hooked ever since. My dad had to build me stairs so that I could pull my own darts out. I have come a long way since then. Growing up I played all the time, especially at my uncle's house. He had an old Medalist Dart Star that I really liked because it was the first electronic board I had seen. I was never really that good though until I turned 21 and started playing competitively in the local bars, winning a lot of tournaments and a lot of money. I also made it to the Finals in the 2012 Big Sky tournament in Missoula Montana, coming out on top with a first place in the Blind Draw Doubles and first place in the A Trios event.
I played my first league team with my dad in the 2007 Fall Medalist League, taking third place in the Medalist State Finals in A Trios and have been going strong ever since. I had some good accomplishments within the next few years, but my favorite win would have to be the 2008 Pride Tour where I won the A Flight Singles. I have been striving to get better ever since. I went to Anaconda Montana in 2012 and 2013 for the Winter Getaway with my good friends and fellow players John Husman, Todd Jordan, and David Foster. There I was really happy to come out on top, taking a first place and a second place in the Blind Draw Grandmaster Doubles. As a team, John, Todd, David and I won the four man two years in a row and we're hoping to make it 3 in 2014.
I don't get to travel very often, so I got my first taste of a real major tournament this year at the 28th Annual Bullshooter Tournament. I impressed myself with my performance, given the calibur of competition that was in attendance. As soon as I walked in I pictured myself making it to the Bullpen. I got really close when I took Top Four in the Men's Top Gun Cricket Singles, losing to a great player named Danny Lauby ll. I finished Top 12 in the Men's '01 Singles after losing my first match. The most exciting event of the weekend by far was the Pro A Cricket Doubles, where my partner Todd Jordan and I made it to the Bullpen out of the losers bracket but finished second. I played some the best darts of my career in that event, beating some really great players like Danny Delfino as well as Scotty Burnett and his partner Daniel Baggish.
I want to thank my beautiful wife for standing beside me and supporting me in my journey to become a better player, I couldn't do it without you. I also want to give a thanks to everybody that made my trip to Bullshooter 28 possible, especially Traci. To my good friend Ty Franzer, I really appreciate everything you have done for me and for letting me represent Flights Pub. Last but not least, I want to give a special thanks to Dart Brokers for being my first sponsor. I was blown away when I was asked to be a part of the team. I am really looking forward to growing as a dart player and representing the Dart Brokers team.
