I started playing darts in 1981 while in the Air Force stationed in San Antonio, Texas. Bill Hamby of Hambys Darts and Stuff took me under his wing and set me up with darts and a league. I learned the game and started traveling to local Texas tournaments. By the time I left Texas in 1984 I was considered one of the top players in San Antonio's large dart community.
I returned to South Carolina to start a family and my business' and retired from darts, until my son showed interest in the sport. After playing a few successful youth adult events with my son I decided to return to competitive darts.
For the last three years I have had the opportunity to travel to many of the ADO tournaments. In 2010 I won 501 at the Rude Dog Open. I have won several 2009 and 2010 regional playoffs, to play in The Masters Finals, The All Star Finals, and The US team finals.
In 2009 I had the opportunity to travel to the PacMania 2 tournament where I won the 501 Doubles event with my partner Jerry Hilbourn.
I have won several events in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Bullshooter Regional events. I have also had much success at the Bullshooters Finals in the last two years. I had a lot of fun achieving a 2nd in the Pro AA luck of the draw with fellow Dartbrokers Player Scott Miller.
This past year I have been playing The World Soft tip championships in Hong Kong. I played in Stage 5 for a top 16, Stage 7 for a top 32, and Stage 8 for a top 64. I returned for the Finals and finished in the top 64. I was also honored to play for the USA team, in the IDF Tournament in Shanghai, China. Where the USA took the top honors over Japan.
I am looking forward to returning for Stage 1 of The World in March 2012.
